AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) and is captain of San Diego Wave FC. She was also co-captain for the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][9] Morgan was drafted by Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had graduated from Berkeley earlier. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. In the team, she made her professional debut and helped the team win the league championship. Morgan was just 22 when she was picked to play for the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011, where they finished as runners-up. At the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the match-winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final clash against Canada. She finished 2012 with 28 goals and 21 assists as she joined Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and record 20 assists during the same calendar year . she became the sixth and the youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year, Morgan was also selected as a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was named to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
